POSCH Power with that extra PLUS
The SpaltFix S-500 Vario Plus transforms whole logs up to 50 cm in diameter into profitable firewood.
The system consists of two machines that are perfectly matched to one another:
The PowerCut handles the powerful and consistent splitting of the timber sections; the AutoSplit then cuts the timber precisely and efficiently to the desired length. This interaction between the two units results in a seamless, efficient production process for high-quality logs and kindling.
The interaction between the feed belt and the X-splitting blade ensures consistent, high-quality logs – even with large log diameters.
The wood is fed past the knifein a controlled manner andsplit several times, producing the typical VARIOSystem logs with a square cross-section. In addition, kindling can be produced efficiently from logs with a log diameter of up to 35 cm. The specially arranged v-shaped cutting edges optimise the splitting result.
The log edge length can be adjusted continuously variable from 2 to 20 cm via the control system, allowing for flexible adjustments and easy operation.EXTREMELY ROBUST DESIGN AND EASY TO MAINTAIN
The solid saw rocker is mounted in two cast housing bearings and is made fromhigh-quality steel – ensuring high stability, smooth running and a long service life, even under continuous load.
The feed rate of the 1,100 mm diameter Widia saw blade is powered by a hydraulic cylinder, ensuring both powerful and controlled operation.
The V-belt is tensioned automatically via a tensioner roller pre-tensioned by a spring. It can be loosened and secured using the tool supplied, making it easy to change.
To ensurereliable power transmission, the solid saw shaft is mounted on two roller bearings.
Two return springs ensure that the saw blade returns automatically. Adjustable wooden side guides provide additional stability during cutting.
At potential points of contact with the frame, replaceable aluminium inserts protect the Widia saw blade. The tool for changing the saw blade is included as standard and is mounted on the machine within easy reach.
FROM 12 TO 50 cm
The adjustable longitudinal stop ensures that logs are all the same length and is automatically retracted hydraulically before the cut to prevent jamming.
The stop is easily accessible from the operator’s station and can be quickly adjusted tool-free in 1‑cm increments from 12–50 cm.
Clearly visible length markings to the left of the saw blade make it easier to cut short offcuts precisely to the desired length.
After the sawing process, the cut piece of timber initially remains on the wood flap.
When the joystick is actuated, the hydraulic wood flap folds down and transfers the piece of timber in a controlled manner onto the buffer belt of the optional AutoSplit.
The AutoSplit’sfully automatic splitting function starts at the touch of a button: The wood is fed in at regular intervals via the feed belt and then split using the X-knife.
Anintegrated sensor monitors the wood supply and stops the automatic system when there is no wood in the hopper, in order to save energy and ensure consistent log quality.
The optional, hydraulically connected conveyor belt starts and stops automatically in synchronisation with the splitting function, thereby preventing blockages in the transfer area.
Whilst the AutoSplit handles the splitting process independently, the operator can concentrate fully on feeding the buffer belt.
