Turning Wood Offcuts into Profit When firewood producers have access to oversized or misshapen timber, this material is often – even though it can be obtained cheaply or sometimes even for free – unsuitable for conventional firewood processing due to its size or shape. This is exactly where POSCH’s AutoLogger comes in. It was specially developed to turn precisely this sort of ‘problem wood’ into profitable firewood and kindling. The X-knife enhances the value of wood. In particular, material that is produced, for example, during tree maintenance is often too large, too irregularly shaped or has too many branches. Where conventional processing machines reach their limits, the AutoLogger processes precisely this type of timber powerfully, efficiently and fully automatic.

The fully automatic AutoLogger does the work for you: Simply place your pieces of wood on the wooden spacer strip and adjust it with a continuously variable thickness. The AutoLogger takes care of the rest fully automatically: The x-shaped knife performs splitting every 5 seconds on the raw material. Depending on your preference, you can receive firewood and kindling either stacked in sacks or loose via the packaging chute or the sliding packaging frame. The feet are height-adjustable to compensate for minor unevenness in the floor. With its long service life, the AutoLogger is the ideal addition to your firewood processing.

X-shaped splitting blade – the top choice for top-quality firewood and kindling

One machine, two possibilities! With the x-shaped splitting blade, you can produce both firewood and kindling to the desired quality – exactly as you require. Thanks to the adjustable log edge lengths ranging from 2 to 15 cm, the size of the logs can be flexibly adjusted to achieve the desired result. The low-wear steel not only guarantees an exceptionally long service life, but also ensures consistently high performance, even under intensive use. Continuous wood feed

The wooden buffer makes feeding the machine easy and ensures a continuous workflow. The powered buffer belt is equipped with a height-adjustable support leg, which helps to ensure a steady feed of timber. This allows both round timber and square timber to be processed efficiently, boosting productivity and minimising work interruptions.

Profit from round timber and square timber

Would you like to turn your offcuts into cash too? The AutoLogger enables you to turn round timber (with a log diameter of 10 to 41 cm) and square timber (with an edge length of 10 to 35 cm) into high-quality firewood and kindling. The machine processes lengths of timber ranging from 12 to 33 cm – a real way to add value to your timber.

POSCH splitting blades: durable & low-wear

The POSCH X-shaped splitting blade is made from high-quality, wear-resistant steel, ensuring a long service life. Instead of buying a new knife, the cutting blades can be resharpened if necessary. The very long brass guides significantly reduce wear on the knife and the guide rail. To ensure the machine continues to split wood properly, we recommend replacing it when necessary.

Flexible operation and everything at a glance

The machine is operated by a control lever that can be actuated from either the left or the right. This allows the splitting function to be started flexibly and conveniently. A fold-out platform provides a clear view of the splitting process, whilst a safety grille offers additional protection. The adjustment dial allows for precise adjustment of the log lengths, and minor unevenness in the floor can be easily corrected using the adjustable feet.

Easy to maintain!

No time-consuming maintenance: Thanks to the central lubrication rail, which is easily accessible from the outside, the machine can be easily kept in top condition. This minimises the effort involved and maximises the service life.

NEW: Splitting process without interruptions thanks to a continuous wood feed

The buffer is filled with wood, whilst the AutoLogger carries out the splitting process fully automatically. This allows you to work much more efficiently and smoothly. The operator can concentrate solely on feeding the log onto the buffer belt at a convenient loading height, whilst the AutoLogger continuously performs splitting of the logs.

Compact when stored, powerful when in use!

Not much storage space? Our AutoLogger can be folded away for space-saving storage and transport. To do this, the buffer belt is moved into the parking position using the hand-operated cable winch.

Splitting and load directly

The basic model includes two hydraulic connections for driving an optional conveyor belt. We offer Option S as special equipment for hydraulic swivel and tilt adjustment.

Lashing points

To ensure safety during transport, the machine is equipped with lashing points that allow it to be securely fastened to the trailer.

Electric drive

Look after yourself and the environment: the electric motor with star-delta start operates quietly and can be powered by electricity from renewable sources. These solutions help to reduce air pollution and do not produce any harmful exhaust fumes in your working environment. The built-in motor protection ensures a long service life by protecting against thermal overload. The rotating field detection prevents the motor from running in the wrong direction, whilst the phase inverter allows the direction of rotation to be easily corrected. In addition, electric drives offer significant cost savings compared with conventional internal combustion engines. The electric motor’s low energy consumption reduces running costs, and the electric drive system is also easy to maintain. This reduces maintenance costs, increases the machine’s uptime and reduces the need for repairs and spare parts, leading to further cost savings in the long term.

Do you want to get the most out of your machine? Our tip: Invest in an oil cooler! In continuous operation (4 hours or more per day), this increases the machine’s service life, as it ensures a consistently low oil temperature, which reduces wear on the hydraulic components and thus extends the machine’s service life! A 12 V, 3-pin continuous-current socket on the tractor is required to operate the oil cooler.

For swivelling and tilting the optional conveyor belt

The AutoLogger is already set up for use with a conveyor belt. For added convenience, you can order this special equipment, which comprises a 2-way valve with two double-acting conveyor belt connections. This equipment allows for the connection of a hydraulic swivel function and tilt adjustment for the optional conveyor belt.

Packaging options for more efficient workflows and to meet individual customer requirements

Would you like to provide neat packaging for your kindling in layers in bags? The packaging chute is the ideal accessory equipment. Simply pull a mesh bag over the end of the chute, and the freshly processed timber is pushed through the screen surface integrated into the packaging chute, so that it is subjected to cleaning and stacked directly into the bag.

Packaging options for more efficient workflows and to meet individual customer requirements

Use the side-sliding double frame for fast and loose packaging of kindling! Simply secure two mesh bags to the adjustable mechanism on the packaging frame and start the splitting process. As soon as one sack is full, move the frame and fill the second sack. In the meantime, you can remove the full bag and fit a new one – it really doesn’t get any more efficient or seamless than that!

Drive shaft

The drive shaft ensures reliable torque transmission, even where components are moving or misaligned. Perfect for POSCH machines – flexible and robust!

Hour meter

Would you like to rent out your machine or keep an eye on the operating time? A suitable operating hours counter is available for each drive variant, allowing you to read off the exact machine running time.

Tank heater
