Smooth feeding via the wood loading bay

Unlike conventional saws, the timber is fed via a hydraulically operated, fully automatic wood loading bay, which continuously feeds the timber to the saw blade. The feeding of the loading bay is performed at an ergonomic working height of one metre. Two rollers in the wood loading bay make it easier to load the wood and allow the log to slide in automatically until it reaches the stop. Always ready for the next log: To make feeding easier, the loader can be stopped easily by pressing the EasyStop lever – for example, with your hip. Once the next log has been fed into the fire, the lever can be released and the sawing process continues automatically. A spring-loaded wood holder secures the wood throughout the entire sawing process, ensuring safety and trouble-free operating methods. An additional wooden guide plate in the load compartment improves safety. If the hopper is not in its starting position and is therefore not ready for feeding, the wood guide plate prevents logs from being ‘thrown in’. The transparent back flap protects against flying splinters whilst sawing and, at the same time, ensures a clear view of the loading area. The drawer is equipped with large roller bearings and plastic guides that run on a stainless steel insert, making it particularly durable and low-maintenance. A hydraulic cylinder ensures that the machine moves in a cushioned, smooth manner at the end of its stroke in both directions.

Work with ease thanks to automatic log detection

The clever innovation for maximum ease of loading and precision: The SmartCut with the SensoStart option stops automatically, allowing you to perform the wood feeding with ease without interrupting your workflow. Thanks to ultrasonic sensors, the SmartCut detects whether there is wood in the feed tray – only then does the sawing process begin, ensuring maximum precision in the cutting length. The carriage moves continuously back and forth until the entire log has been sawn to the desired length. As soon as the last piece has been cut, the feed tray stops in the starting position and waits for new wood. A new sawing cycle can be started at the touch of a button on the control box, regardless of whether the sensor has been triggered. In addition, a switch can be used to toggle between sensor mode and continuous mode: In continuous operation, the loader moves back and forth continuously without stopping. This option also includes the longitudinal stop, which can be adjusted in 10-mm increments to allow for even more precise adjustment to different lengths of timber.

For custom-sized logs

The desired timber length is set tool-free using the standard wood stop, which can be adjusted in 12 stages. This allows for precise cutting lengths and, thanks to a spring-assisted mechanism, is particularly easy to adjust to the desired length. An integrated measuring scale makes it easy to set the desired log length precisely. Jams between the saw and the wood loading bay are reduced by a recessed section incorporated into the longitudinal stop.

Stop loading – stress-free loading

A handy feature: the standard EasyStop bracket. This stops the fully automatic wood loading bay, allowing the operator to load the machine with wood at their own pace. The machine stops as long as the lever is held down. When the handle is released, the SmartCut continues the fully automatic cutting process – for stress-free feeding.

Simply from A to B

Thanks to the standard three-point linkage (Categories I and II), the SmartCut can be easily transported to the work site using a tractor. For compact transport and storage, the conveyor belt can be easily retracted and positioned almost vertically using a hand-operated cable winch. A safety chain secures the conveyor belt. The EasyStop bracket can be folded away to save space. Additional forklift attachments make it easier to manoeuvre the machine with safety.

Even more time for feeding!

The switchable delay function ensures even greater convenience when loading timber: If this is activated, the wood loading bay pauses briefly in the starting position. Even without actuation of the EasyStop lever, this gives you more time for feeding the machine. This makes the job easier, particularly with coarse or fibrous wood, as it has more time to slide all the way to the stop. This elevates the precision of the log lengths before the automatic sawing process resumes on its own.

Easy maintenance – consistently high performance

The saw blade can be changed fast and easily – the tool required for this is included in the scope of delivery. Thanks to the central lubrication rail on the machine frame, maintenance of the moving parts can be carried out fast, saving time and extending their service life. The V-belts can be easily retensioned to ensure consistent performance. The durable plastic runners on the wood loading bay can be easily replaced if necessary, without having to dismantle the entire loading bay. This ensures your machine is always in perfect condition and ready for use at any time!

For a clean work station

The standard chip ejection system at the front of the machine has an integrated chip extraction connection (diameter 100 mm). This allows you to easily connect the SmartCut to a chip extraction fan to ensure a clean and virtually dust-free working environment. Small pieces of wood in the chip tray fall out from underneath the machine.

Fast and easy saw blade change

Even the best saw blade needs sharpening from time to time. By simply releasing the lock, the protective cover over the cutting range can be opened and, thanks to practical hinges, swivelled backwards effortlessly, allowing easy access to the saw blade. The tool keys supplied enable fast and safe saw blade changes: One is used to loosen the nut, the other to provide a handy support against the saw shaft.

Safe loading and unloading

Not something to be taken for granted, but practical: The integrated lifting point enables safe and effortless loading and unloading using a lifting tool. To ensure safe transport, the machine is equipped with lashing points that allow it to be securely fastened to the trailer.

Carbide saw blade

Available in a reinforced model as the ideal solution for demanding professional applications. It offers an extended service life and is particularly suitable for intensive use on automatic saws. Thanks to the reduced effort required and significantly quieter operation, it improves efficiency. Furthermore, cutting times are significantly extended, as the blade needs to be resharpened less frequently.

The feeding of the loading bay is performed at an ergonomic working height of one metre. Continuously variable longitudinal stop

Are your metre-long pieces of different lengths, and do you want to avoid offcuts that might interfere with the automatic sawing process? Compared with the standard longitudinal stop, the continuously variable longitudinal stop allows the spring-assisted stop with a high stop plate to be precisely adjusted in 10-mm increments tool-free, via a rack and pinion mechanism. This allows you to fine-tune the length of each section and work with virtually no offcuts. In the Comfort Package with the SensoStart system (Option S), this stop is already included as standard.

Sliding three-point linkage

Thanks to the adjustable three-point linkage, which is driven by the tractor’s hydraulic system, the machine can be moved 300 mm for transport. This results in a more even distribution between the left and right sides, and the lateral overhang on the right-hand side when travelling in the direction of travel is reduced for transport purposes. Particularly useful for narrow tractors!
