Full-length log splitter

A full-length log splitter is a success story The classic that never goes out of fashion: The beginnings date back to the 1980s, when the first hydraulic metre-long timber splitters came onto the market - a minor revolution at the time. Even today, the HydroCombi makes working with firewood considerably easier. There are now 283 possible combinations to choose from – ranging from 13 to 26 tonnes of splitting force, from petrol to hybrid powertrains, and featuring many extras such as a winch. And best of all, You can rely on the HydroCombi – for decades to come: Even today, the very first POSCH log splitters from the 1980s and 1990s are still in use! You can never have enough of some greens: More than 80,000 models sold speak for themselves! The metre-long timber splitter is not only extremely popular, but also a pioneer in terms of safety - thanks to the two-hand control and the newly revised Fixomatic system, which holds and splits both logs and billets safely and efficiently.

Floor grate with functional design

In combination with the Fixomatic System 2.0, the special, further developed shape of the floor grid provides an optimum base and secure hold for your log. It ensures greater stability and, consequently, greater safety and comfort when loading or splitting wood. The floor grating can be folded up for easy cleaning; all you need to do is loosen a single screw.

Work smarter, not harder: Damped safety guard with impact protection!

The new safety bar prevents the split wood from falling over and also serves as a handy temporary shelf. Thanks to innovative technology, bent and damaged protective bars are a thing of the past. Under heavy loads, the new safety bar swings downwards and backwards, providing additional energy-absorbing impact protection that minimises the rebound of the logs. A practical sappie holder is also integrated. In the event that the winch is subject to retrofitting, the protective bar can easily be folded down to allow for this. This increases the working area for operating the winch.

Back-friendly and safe lifting of the log with the log lifting device!

The HydroCombi brings heavy logs into the right position almost by itself. The standard mechanical log lifting device raises the logs in a convenient and back-friendly manner. The wood flap attached to it prevents the trunk from slipping or falling over whilst being positioned. To make it easier to roll the log onto the log lifting device, it can be folded away in a single movement. The cushioned catch area acts as an anti-slip pad and impact protection, absorbing the energy of the split wood and minimising kickback. This keeps the logs in position for further processing and prevents them from falling towards the operator. Optional rope winches make your work even easier.

Fixomatic 2.0

The two-part splitting blade (Fixomatic system) securely holds the wood in place for the splitting process – without the need for any fiddly holding. The lower wedge also fixes thin or angled wood without any problems, and the wedge is conveniently released at operating height. Incorporated, patented grooves on this part of the wedge make it easier to split fibrous or soft wood, prevent slipping and interlock. In addition, the tried-and-tested wood holding tip on the wedge guide ensures an even better grip. As soon as the splitting process is triggered, the upper wedge moves towards the fixed wedge holder and pushes the splitting wedge through the wood. Grooves in the upper part of the wedge guarantee precise guidance during the splitting process and thus increase the operator's safety.

Powerful pulling forces thanks to the winch

Powerful hydraulic winches are handy aids for timber work. With the POSCH winches for all HydroCombi models with a splitting force of 16 tonnes or more, any trunk to be split within a radius of up to 40 metres is pulled towards the machine without any manual effort and positioned for splitting. Available with a pulling force of either 500 or 750 kg, with manual or radio control. The winch offers the following advantages: - a wide range of applications - a high feed point with a swivelling pulley, - soft start and soft lowering - automatic rope-end cut-off during feed, and - it can be folded away to save space during transport. The lowerable log lifting device and the side arm provide maximum freedom of movement for logs, both in confined and open spaces. A 3-pin 12 V continuous-current socket on the tractor is required for operation. Two different gripping tongs and a chain with two block strip hooks are available as optional extras for log handling.

Autospeed

The Autospeed function automatically selects the optimum shearing speed and the required splitting force – much like the automatic gearbox in a car.

Split files fast with the lift limit!

Avoid unnecessary empty runs when splitting and save time! Thanks to the stroke limiter, the return path is reduced to the required log height, so that the HydroCombi is ready for use more quickly. Optimise your work efficiency by simply adjusting the splitting stroke to the desired log length at a comfortable operating height: Loosen the locking screw and adjust the stroke using the markings on the stop bar.

Innovative riving wedge

The splitting wedge, which slopes forwards as standard, prevents the split material from being pushed towards the operator and at the same time reduces the force required for splitting. The riving wedge consists of two parts: To prevent the wood from falling towards the operator during the splitting process, rollers with grooves are incorporated into the upper splitting wedge, and grooves are integrated into the lower part of the splitting blade. These patented innovations ensure precise guidance, minimise slippage of the wood and thus protect the operator from falling logs.

Sappie holder

Park your Sappie conveniently on the outside of the machine: Whether on the log lifting device or on the safety bar – the storage option is suitable for both right- and left-handers, and the Sappie is easily accessible from the operator’s station.

Safety shut-off damper

For increased safety: If a piece of wood gets between the splitting wedge and the safety shut-off flap during the return travel, it stops the return travel of the splitting wedge.

Where to put the tools when your machine is being transported? Use the tool holder fitted as standard to secure the necessary accessory equipment for transport.

Big on the job – compact for storage and transport

For the storage and transport of the HydroCombi, the cylinder can be lowered to reduce the overall height of the machine. If your machine is equipped with a winch, it can be folded away for transport. With its compact height (up to a max. of 2 m), the HydroCombi fits into almost any shed.

This smooth-running industrial grey cast iron pump ensures reliable and efficient performance. It minimises vibrations and noise, making it particularly pleasant to use and ensuring a long service life. Ideal for long-term use.

Electric drive

Look after yourself and the environment: the electric motor with star-delta start operates quietly and can be powered by electricity from renewable sources. These solutions help to reduce air pollution and do not produce any harmful exhaust fumes in your working environment. The built-in motor protection ensures a long service life by protecting against thermal overload. The rotating field detection prevents the motor from running in the wrong direction, whilst the phase inverter allows the direction of rotation to be easily corrected. In addition, electric drives offer significant cost savings compared with conventional internal combustion engines. The electric motor’s low energy consumption reduces running costs, and the electric drive system is also easy to maintain. This reduces maintenance costs, increases the machine’s uptime and reduces the need for repairs and spare parts, leading to further cost savings in the long term.

The optional hydraulic log lifting device replaces the standard mechanical version and effortlessly lifts the log into the splitting position – without any physical effort whatsoever. The wood flap attached to it prevents the trunk from slipping or falling over whilst being positioned. To make it easier to roll the trunk onto the hydraulic log lifting device, the device can be folded away in a single simple step. The cushioned catch area acts as an anti-slip pad and impact protection, absorbing the energy of the split wood and minimising kickback. This ensures that the logs remain securely in place for further processing and cannot fall towards the operator. Equipped with its own oil circuit and an integrated valve, it provides a precise and efficient control system. The lifting arm of the hydraulic log lifting device can be adjusted to any height and can be actuated at any time – regardless of the splitting process. This elevates both working comfort and safety.

Retrofitting of the HydroCombi 22 and 26 winches

Retrofitting the high-performance '750' winch (HW, FH) is an ideal upgrade for machines in the 'M' series (e.g. item no. MxxxMR) manufactured from 2010 onwards, as well as those in the 'L' series (e.g. item no. MxxxxLR) manufactured from 2011 onwards. This retrofit option opens up new applications and increases the versatility of your machine. To ensure that the winch is compatible with your machine, please check that the item number matches the one on your machine’s type plate. The cable winch is operated via the tractor PTO drive, which ensures reliable and powerful utilisation. For machines equipped with both drive variants - tractor PTO shaft and electric motor - cable winch operation is only possible when driven via the tractor PTO shaft in order to ensure optimum safety. Important notes: * A 3-pin 12 V continuous-current socket on the tractor is required for operation. * Two brackets must be welded onto the column to support the winch. * Assembly takes approx. 6 - 8 hours.
