After the longitudinal conveyors, four conical, ball-bearing-mounted feed rollers in the machine frame ensure a reliable feed rate for the trunk to the sawing unit. The robust rollers are connected by durable chains; integrated chain tensioners perform automatic tension maintenance – without the need for manual adjustment. A powerful hydraulic motor drives the system, whilst solid bearings ensure low-wear, low-maintenance continuous operation. A trough-shaped metal panel between the rollers ensures that the trunk is perfectly centred and largely prevents debris from getting under the machine. Two integrated deflector plates ensure that any bark debris is channelled away in a controlled manner, whilst at the same time protecting the hydraulic tank and its components below from contamination. To prevent damage caused by the log feed, a built-in hydraulic valve ensures that the feed rollers are only activated once the saw blade is in its defined starting position.

The SuperCut harvester saw unit is fitted to ensure maximum cutting performance, precise guidance and clean, fast cuts. It is fitted with a powerful skew-axis motor, which ensures reliable driving power. The hydraulic blade clamping and chain tensioning are carried out automatically – but only when the protective cover is closed. An integrated hydraulic cylinder with a rack ensures a consistently smooth saw feed. The saw chain is continuously lubricated by a piston pump throughout the entire swivelling movement of the saw bar. This reduces wear and tear and extends the service life of the guide bar and chain. A generously sized chain oil reservoir allows for long running times without the need for topping up. A dedicated hydraulic circuit for the saw unit ensures greater performance and efficiency. This means that the sawing function can also be operated at the same time as the splitting process. The saw chain can be changed fast and tool-free. Once the chain and the two retaining bolts have been removed, the guide bar can be replaced without any difficulty. The drive sprocket can be easily replaced by loosening just one fixing bolt. The sawing process is conveniently started using the joystick in the operating area. To ensure optimum cutting performance, the pressure and speed of the saw feed can be individually adjusted to suit the specific operating conditions using two adjustment knobs on the control panel.

The solid pressure piece, featuring an integrated double-cylinder system and a splitting force of 35, , ensures a powerful, even feed rate of the timber towards the MULTI splitting blade. The pressure plate has a non-slip surface, ensuring safety during the splitting process by holding the trunk securely in place. To ensure maximum durability and minimal wear, the pressure piece glides along the guide rail on solid brass guides. The guides can be easily maintained via an easily accessible central lubrication rail. Bolted together rather than welded – meaning that the slotted trough with guide rail can be replaced if necessary.

The automatic splitting process begins with just a single movement of the joystick. The dual-cylinder system and the Autospeed function detect how much splitting force is required and adjust the necessary splitting speed fully automatically. The twin-cylinder system ensures an even higher retraction speed for the pressure piece – saving time and boosting productivity with every splitting process. Thanks to a sophisticated mechanism, the process is controlled entirely automatically: The pressure piece feeds the trunk up to the MULTI splitting blade, splits the wood and returns automatically to its starting position – precisely, reliably and with minimal maintenance. The additional mechanical control lever allows the splitting process to be started at any time and safely stopped if necessary. The specially shaped splitting trough automatically centres the wood in the splitting channel – ensuring clean and consistent results. To ensure maximum service life, the area of the splitting trough subject to the greatest wear – at the junction with the MULTI splitting blade – is equipped with replaceable, wear-resistant steel plates. Three built-in pressure gauges in the operating area allow for continuous monitoring of the pressures in the gap system.

The following components are clearly arranged on the control panel: - Joystick for activating the splitting stroke and performing hydraulic blade adjustment, - Joystick for controlling the saw, wood rocker and feed mechanism, - Control lever for manual splitter control, - Control lever for operating the conveyor belt, manipulator and cross conveyor, - Two adjustment knobs for the pressure and speed of the saw feed, - A pushbutton for the machine’s stop function; depending on the drive type, there is an indicator light for the safety circuit, a pushbutton for starting the system, and a ball valve for switching the Autospeed function on and off. Four built-in pressure gauges for monitoring pressure conditions within the kerf system and at the saw motor.

The Autospeed function performs automatic selection of the optimum slitting speed by taking the slitting pressure into account and switching between the two feed speeds. This ensures that optimum performance is always achieved.

A platform running alongside the control console allows the system to be operated with ease. The staircase features anti-slip steps; non-slip grating on the platform ensures safety and makes cleaning easy, whilst sturdy handrails provide additional protection.

MULTI splitting blades are available in various combinations of the number of logs to suit different wood diameters. Depending on the type of blade, the piece of wood can thus be split into 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 15 or 18 pieces in a single splitting process. The main cutting edge is welded continuously into the solid knife frame, ensuring a high degree of stability. The remaining cutting edges are arranged in a staggered pattern along the splitting direction, so that they do not split at the same time as the main cutting edge. The continuous vertical cutting edge performs the splitting of the piece of wood before it then comes into contact with the other side cutters. This significantly reduces the splitting force required. Between the two parts of the splitting blade, the continuous main cutting edge splits even thinner pieces of wood into two. In the 12-, 15- or 18-log models of the splitting blade, an additional ring-shaped cutting edge behind the two main cutting edges ensures that the central section of the trunk is removed and split into four parts at the same time. The logs in the outer section are split in half at the same time, resulting in smaller pieces of firewood. All main and side cutting edges are double-edged, so that the splitting process can better follow the grain of the wood, which also results in fewer splinters. The well-designed frame construction prevents the wood from becoming jammed between the knife and the machine frame. This prevents jamming and ensures that the frame blade remains height-adjustable at all times. Two plastic guides ensure that the MULTI splitting blade is guided perfectly within the machine frame. The hydraulic blade adjustment selects the appropriate blade section from the MULTI blade set, tailored to the log diameter and the number of logs. A measurement scale on each knife section, clearly visible from the operator’s station, makes it easier to centre the knife in relation to the log, thereby ensuring optimum log quality. Thanks to an integrated lifting point, the MULTI splitting blade can be replaced using a lifting tool once the fastening on the blade adjustment cylinder has been loosened.

To ensure that the trunk is always split down the centre and to achieve optimum wood quality, the height of the MULTI splitting blade can be conveniently adjusted hydraulically using a control lever at the operator’s station. In addition, the appropriate knife section of the MULTI knife can be selected according to the log diameter and the required number of logs. A scale clearly visible from the operator’s station for each section of the knife makes it easier to centre the MULTI knife in relation to the wood diameter, which can be read beforehand using a further scale on the gripper.

After the sawing process, the cut piece of wood does not fall directly into the splitting chute, but remains on the wood rocker for the time being. When the joystick is actuated, the hydraulic wood rocker swings towards the splitting area and feeds the piece of timber into the splitting channel in a controlled manner. Two tension springs ensure the automatic return movement. A safety valve prevents the transfer from taking place as long as the pressure piece is not in its starting position – thereby preventing malfunctions. To ensure a particularly gentle transfer, the transfer speed can be individually adjusted using an integrated throttle. This minimises the risk of tipping over and reduces the need for manual intervention.

The solid, adjustable wood stop ensures that trunks are all the same length – without having to keep an eye on the measurement marks. In conjunction with the hydraulic clearance mechanism, the stop is automatically moved away from the trunk before the cutting begins, to prevent the saw or the timber from becoming jammed. The stop can be adjusted to 25, 30, 33, 40, 45 or 50 cm via the large maintenance access panel simply by loosening four screws. The integrated markings showing the possible section lengths allow you to adjust the length as required. A spring-loaded plastic guide plate, which is mounted on a rotatable bearing directly on the wood stop, ensures optimum guidance and improved feeding of the wood sections into the splitting area. This minimises the risk of tipping over and reduces the need for manual intervention. For short offcuts that can no longer be held securely by the gripper after being fed forward to the wood stop, there are clearly visible length markings on the rear panel to the left of the saw unit. This means that even the final section can be easily and precisely aligned by hand, or cut to the desired length.

The twin-cylinder system ensures an even higher retraction speed for the pressure piece – saving time and boosting productivity with every splitting process. The integrated multi-valve block with additional functions, combined with two joystick control systems, also enables precise operation of all hydraulic functions – intuitively and conveniently. A pressure filter with a contamination indicator and two return filters reliably protect the entire system from contamination. A large hydraulic tank with a high oil capacity and a standard oil cooler ensures that the oil temperature remains low, which reduces wear on the hydraulic components and thus extends their service life – ideal for professional use. Four hydraulic couplings on the stationary machine provide greater flexibility, allowing the optional longitudinal and transverse conveyors to be connected fast and easily. To facilitate maintenance work, all hydraulic components are labelled and clearly documented in the hydraulic diagram and the spare parts list.

To ensure simple and straightforward maintenance, all lubrication points are easily accessible without the need to remove protective covers and are arranged in groups using central lubrication rails.

The cross-conveyor chains can be easily retensioned as required using the easily accessible tensioning screws.
